Primary Research:  Primary Research is defined as a methodology used by researchers to collect data collected from previously done research. Technically, they "own" the data. Primary research is solely carried out to address a certain problem, which requires in-depth analysis. Examples: 1. Interviews (telephone or face-to-face) 2. Surveys (online or mail) 3. Questionnaires (online or mail) 4. Visits to competitors' locations. Secondary Research:  Secondary Research involves the summary, collation and or synthesis of existing research. Secondary research is contrasted with primary research in that primary research involves the generation of data, whereas secondary research uses primary research sources as a source of data for analysis. 1) The beginning: The UEFA Champions League was founded in 1955, but the current format has been around since 1992. It was formally known as the European Champion Club's Cup. 2) First winner: Real Madrid was the first team to ever win the Champions League in 1955-56.
